Wikipedia

An editorial is a opinion based article on a specific topic. Most teachers do not allow the use of Wikipedia. They believe it gives false information and is not a reliable source for projects or reports. Most teachers that I have would probably not allow Wikipedia to be used. I have not asked why but I believe they would not allow it. 

After reading this article, I have a different opinion about Wikipedia than before.
Most teachers are not educated about Wikipedia. Also, knowing know that students go on and write articles give me a different opinion about  Wikipedia.

Apple Took Away iOS Update 8.0.1

Apple recently made an update to the latest version of iOS 8. Unfortunately the iOS update 8.0.1 was deleted after people reported many bugs with the new update. Some people reported that the Touch iD on the iPhone 5S and 

6 and 6 plus wasn't working. Other people who updated their devices said that a message would pop up saying they have no cell service. Apple stopped the update about an hour after the release of the software. People who were affected by this problem can re-install iOS 8 by connecting your device to iTunes on your computer. Apple states that they are investigating the problem and finding a way to solve this problem.

Multimedia Blog Posting

This year I am taking World History with Mr. Minnocci. Mr. Minnocci teaches world history and other classes pertaining to history. http://wood-ridge.schoolwires.net/Domain/174 (teacher's website) The main focus of world history is to learn about the world's history over thousands of years. The grading policy used is for general social studies classes.

• 30% Summative Assessments
• 30% Performance Based Assessments
• 20% Classwork (Including Class Participation)
• 20% Homework 

I expected to learn many things about the world the first class. I find his class interesting because I find that history is interesting and he teaches well. Technology is used in his class. Just recently, every room in the school got a cart of chromebooks. He also takes advantage of using his iPad to show pictures or presentations on what we are learning in class.

Educational Technology and Copyright Law

I learned many things after reading this passage about copyright. I learned that any thing you write or put on paper is copyrighted already. If somebody tries to use your work, your work is copyrighted and they cannot use it. Also if you want to show your work to somebody else, it is fair use.

Microsoft Reportedly Getting Rid of Nokia and Windows Phone Brands

Microsoft is reportedly getting rid of the Windows Phone Brand and Nokia. Microsoft recently bought the Nokia Company in April for 7.2 billion dollars. Former Nokia CEO stated that he doesn't see the Nokia brand sticking around for a long time. Microsoft renamed the company Microsoft Mobile. Microsoft has planned to use Nokia to continue promoting its Window Phone Operating System. Microsoft will also drop the "Phone" part of its "Windows Phone" branding. Microsoft new branding will just be with the Windows logo.
